General

Can ProphetRMS still be used even if the satellite won't connect?
Absolutely, ProphetRMS logs all data and activities/events to the controller flash drive and can store data for up to one week before any data is lost. All the job data will be sent to the website the next time a satellite connection is available. However, during this time when the satellite won't connect the job data will not be available on the website.
Does the system tie into the brake, clutch or throttle?
ProphetRMS is a monitoring system only and has no direct control or influence of the rig. Alarms and messaging is used to inform the operator if an unusual situation occurs but all rig control is still left to the operator.
How can a consultant benefit from ProphetRMS and data analyst reports?
Consultants can benefit hugely from ProphetRMS. ProphetRMS is a tool that provides unique insight into the field operations of producers. Although ProphetRMS provides tremendous value in basic use, maximizing the value of ProphetRMS requires the attention of experienced individuals with thorough training of ProphetRMS. Consultants are uniquely positioned to provide this expertise to the producer, essentially taking the place of a ProphetRMS analyst. Once opportunities for improvement are identified, the consultant is also well positioned to implement changes to drive efficiency and quality improvements. This will be an extremely valuable service for the producers, which will be an additional revenue stream for forward thinking consultants.
How can I make a suggestion or request for ProphetRMS?
You can provide any feedback, suggestions or requests about ProphetRMS using our online feedback form under the top menu "Contact >> Feedback". We'd love to hear your ideas and our customer support team will look into every item submitted.
How do recommendations and improvements recognized with ProphetRMS get implemented?
Once opportunities for improvement are identified, recommendations will be agreed that will result in improvements. Implementation of these recommendations is the responsibility of all stakeholders, including the rig contractor, the consultant, and the producer. Everybody must work together to achieve the full benefit of any changes. Although the ultimate responsibility (and full value) resides with the producer, every stakeholder wants to provide the best possible service to their customers. In due course, enthusiastic participation by all stakeholders will result in competitive advantage for those vendors that fully support their client. ProphetRMS analysts will work with all stakeholders to achieve the best possible results for everybody involved.
How do rig crews learn to use ProphetRMS?
AMI provides certified ProphetRMS training for rig crews. This training includes a half day classroom training course, with plenty of hands on with the actual equipment, as well as a half day field training on the actual rig. During regular operations AMI staff are available through regular support channels to answer any questions.
How do we clean the display screen?
The display screen should be hand cleaned only with a soft cloth. Do not pressure wash the display screen.
How does the data logging operate with ProphetRMS?
Data logging is automatically stored any time the system is turned on. It logs data to a controller in the ProphetRMS control box and this data is automatically sent via satellite to the ProphetRMS portal website online.
How is ProphetRMS supported?
ProphetRMS has a dedicated, locally available support team. 24 hour support is available via phone, email and ProphetRMS.com. ProphetRMS is fully supported by AMI. Customers need not concern themselves with the need to provide their own support.
What happens if the rig battery is dead and needs boosting or welding is needed on the Rig?
Since the Prophet RMS system is connected to the rig battery and chassis ground, you must electrically isolate the box by turning the main power switch off before boosting or welding.
What if the perforating company wants us to shutdown all equipment completely?
The RF power can be turned off by a switch on the box which will turn off the satellite (the only wireless part of the system). In addition, if the perforating company insists that everything be shutdown, press "Power-off System" on the ProphetRMS display, wait for shutdown and then turn off the main power switch. When everything is turned back on, the same job will be running and everything can resume where it left off.
What is the role of the ProphetRMS data analyst?
The ProphetRMS data analyst’s role is to provide support in the use of the ProphetRMS information to determine areas for improvement. ProphetRMS analysts are not necessarily service rig experts, but rather they are experts in analyzing data and information using the ProphetRMS tool set. Furthermore, ProphetRMS analysts understand the sophisticated Statistical Process Control (SPC) methodologies used in analyzing the ProphetRMS data. This insight can prove invaluable in realizing the full benefits of ProphetRMS. In addition, ProphetRMS analysts can be a valuable resource in discussing and providing alternative information reporting options.

On request, the ProphetRMS analysts will present opportunities for improvement to the stakeholders and preside over meetings to discuss possible trainings or mitigations.
What makes ProphetRMS unique?
ProphetRMS is based on patented technology unavailable elsewhere in the market, as well as proprietary know how developed over several years from a database of over 40,000 well servicing jobs. ProphetRMS not only monitors operations in the field, but also provides unique decision quality information about job performance. This information can be used to identify trends in performance, resulting in specific feedback for improvement, rather than unhelpful generalities.
Why should a producer invest in ProphetRMS?
ProphetRMS provides decision quality information to improve quality, efficiency and safety for well servicing operations. Well servicing has only been monitored by a select group of companies and only for a short period of time. Information collected by service rig monitoring systems in North America has conclusively shown that savings of up to 30% are available to companies that are able to measure performance and identify areas for improvement. These savings are permanent savings that are available to the producer year after year, regardless of the price of oil & gas. These savings are realized, not only in the direct costs of service rigs, but also in associated costs, such as rentals, 3rd party costs, and management costs. Reduction of service time on a well also opens up the well for additional production.

Acronyms

What is RT?
RT stands for "real time" and refers to the real time operating system of the programmable automation controller. The RT controller used in ProphetRMS is a National Instruments cRIO based device and is used for monitoring sensors, logging data and running the data acquisition software. The RT controller is extremely rugged and ensures reliable operation in harsh environments, without any dependency on the Windows operating system.
What is the HMI?
HMI is short for "human machine interface" and is used to refer to the touchscreen display installed on the rig, and used by the rig operator. The display is often called the "driller's display".
